Wild Flowers is about finding the sweet spot between deliberate and spontaneous. Colorful compositions of delicate flowers with wild tentacles, leaves and blobs are created by thoughtful choices of color, fluidity and layering of paint. Breaths and puffs of air give rise to flow, eruptions or explosions which spontaneously reveal layers, marbles, cells and depth. While many of the (now destroyed) experiments looked contrived, too impulsive and/or formless, a few creations merge delightful combinations of deliberate, delicate and spontaneous forms. They may resemble separating cells, fighting flowers, squashed strawberries or simply beautiful wild flowers balanced in their colors and beauty. A resemblance with life can be imagined where a combination of conscious choices and structure as well as openness to flow and freedom may result in delicate beauty and fulfillment.
